Migrating website
Your energy bills have more than doubled since 2020 because gas has become 2.5x more expensive and there is no 24/7 alternative. Solar and wind farms can only provide power during sunlight and windy hours. That means our 40 million solar panels and 12 thousand wind turbines either produce too much electricity when we do not need it, or none when we do, as there's less than 60 minutes of storage on the grid. By storing up more wind and solar energy, you could turn your lights on with clean energy whenever you need. To bring storage to the real world, someone has to design and plan those projects - that's where we come in.

The Electric Mountain

Dinorwig

Built in 1984, Dinorwig stores electricity by pumping water up and down a hillside between a disused quarry and small lower lake. The 'Electric Mountain' can power 500,000 homes at once for 6 continuous hours. We need 75x more batteries like Dinorwig to achieve a sensible renewable future

We are developing the first big water & lithium batteries in half a century

Evolving market and policy conditions have, for the first time in decades, made possible the building of more big batteries at no necessary cost to the taxpayer.

Locations

Through proprietary artificial intelligence scanning software, our team has identified locations across the country that offer excellent storage potentials with minimal-no environmental, visual and landscape harm

Technology

We are designing our projects to use both cutting edge lithium cells to deliver fast, readily available power and hydro to offer slow, consistent power to the grid to spread sunlight evenly throughout the night

Team

Our team has no spare parts, with specialists roped in from technical and policy firms that have a track record of success in important energy projects

Government supported not subsidised

We are working closely with partners in the UK, Scottish and Welsh Governments to carefully develop and design our projects to compliment, not contradict, the world around them. Our projects will be viable independent of any Government schemes and incentives, relying on the value to solving mismatches between solar and wind supply to consumer demand curves

Scottish Battery Project

By Scots for Scots
Scotland is today home to 7 exciting developments bigger than Dinorwig, thanks to a host of beautiful hillsides miles away from dwellings or trodden paths. Our Scottish talent have prioritised developing sites with the least recreational footfall around Argyll and Bute

Welsh Battery Project

Where it all began
Wales is decades ahead of Europe with Dinorwig and Ffestiniog, projects that proved the viability of ginormous Francis-type turbines back in the 70s. We are working closely with the WDB to reignite Welsh energy and provide engineering internships to Cardiff graduates
